It Slowly Disappears

Michael LoCicero I see no listings for narration or singing so I can only assume that Sebastien either does it himself or simulates it somehow.. Another SOFT CORRIDOR piece mastered by Fraser McGowan Favorite track: L'échappée.
Lost Tribe Sound
Lost Tribe Sound thumbnail
Lost Tribe Sound Brings me back to everything I loved about mid to late 90's electronic/ left-field music. Old Joy captures a sound reminiscent of the labels Neo Ouija, CCO, or perhaps Moteer, but it definitely stands strong with a mood all its own and it makes me long for a time when electronic music didn't take itself so seriously. Favorite track: Go Now, Farewell.

about

Soft Corridor’s third release is the debut album by “OLD JOY” : “It Slowly Disappears”.

Sébastien Monnoye aka “Old Joy” is an electronic musician based in Brussels, Belgium. He started playing music in the 90′s and had played in different bands for several years with an emphasis on electronic improvisation these last years with the musical collectives “Elphemerrance” and the “Metahub”.

In 2003, he started to compose music and soundscapes for audiovisual art installations, he then worked on his own video installations. In 2007, he worked on a dance/digital art piece cocreated with Ingrid Simon. At this occasion he composed his first personal tracks and played them live during the shows.

Since then, “Old Joy” has been composing and playing music in different projects.

2013 will be the year of the release of his first full length album “It Slowly Disappears” on Soft Corridor Records.

The music of “Old Joy” is often downtempo and cinematic. It is also warm and atmospheric.

“Old Joy” is playing live accompanied by the visual artist “Requiem4tv”.
